Congratulations to Kathleen Priceman, the President-elect for NNELL, the National Network for Early Language Learning, for 2019-2020.  Kathleen is a 4th grade Spanish Immersion teacher at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, Oak Park, and serves as the FLES Chair for ICTFL. She was ICTFL President  2011-2012, and was the Illinois Foreign Language Teacher of the Year in 2014.

Congratulations to Susan A. Hildebrandt, Illinois State University Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and Spanish, who was recently elected to a four-year term as an  At-Large member of the ACTFL Board of Directors.  Susan has also co-authored the newly published book, Understanding the World Language edTPA, with 2016 ACTFL President Pete Swanson.

Chicago Area Chapter AATSP 37th Oral and Artistic Contest

The Chicago Area Chapter AATSP will host the 37th oral and artistic contest that honors the memory of a past president, Fenando Mendoza. The poster contest is open to students in grades 6-12 and the Poetry Contest is for students 1st - Jr. College. The event is on November 19th at Niles North High School.
