2012 Call for Conference Proposals

CALL FOR PROPOSALS:  ICTFL FALL CONFERENCE 2012   -  "Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of ICTFL"

Theme:  "Navigation 2012:  Celebrating our   25 Year Journey- Mapping the Next 25 Years"

Dates:  October 18-20, 2012

Location:  Tinley Park Conference Center, Tinley Park, IL

Extended Submission Deadline:  March 1, 2012 

Procedure:  A downloadable .pdf is available, but please submit proposal online at www.ictfl.org .  Complete all sections of the webforms.  All proposals will be acknowledged and presenters will be have an opportunity to final edit their session description before the Conference Program is printed.  Session Title is limited to 8 words or less - Session Description is limited to 70 words or less. 

Requested Topics - Sessions are desired on the following topics:

  • 21st Century Skills World Language Map / Common Core
  • OPI or Developing Oral Proficiency
  • Performance Based / Skill Assessments
  • TPRS/Comprehensible Input
  • NELL/FLES
  • New Teachers
  • Culture - with focus on global connections/community
  • Technology
  • Language-Specific Topics

FALL CONFERENCE PRESENTERS RECEIVE:

  • One Year's FREE ICTFL Membership
  • Additional CPDU Credits from ISBE
  • Include in your documented professional activities used for:  Teacher Evaluation Purposes (PERA / Senate Bill 7), Resume / Curriculum Vitae, Scholarship and Award Applications
  • Include in National Board Certification - Porfolio 4
  • Your service and collaboration benefits other Illinois world language teachers
  • Recognition and Appreciation from ICTL and your peers

IMPORTANT NOTES:

As with ACTFL, Central States, and similar professional meetings, it is the policy of the conference to require presenters to pay the registration fee and their own travel expenses.  Presenters must register for the Fall Conference by the Early Bird Deadline of August 15, 2012.  A projector and screen will be provided, but presenter must provide computer.  The Tinley Park Conference Center facility provides free Wi-Fi.  One session will be selected as the "Best of Illinois" to represent our state at the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

Indicate what audio visual resources you will require.  ICTFL can provide an LCD Projector and Screen.   Free Wi-Fi is provided by the conference facility for laptops.  You must provide any other audio visual equipment as well as connections (i.e., MAC) that fit your laptop.

Please indicate the day(s) you prefer.  Flexibility is appreciated in scheduling a balanced conference grid.
